What we collect

CartIQ collects only what's needed to work:

• Postal code — entered by you to find deals near you. Not stored on our servers.
• Email address — only if you subscribe to the weekly deals newsletter. Stored securely via Beehiiv.

We do not require account creation. We do not collect names, phone numbers, or payment information.

How we use it

• Postal codes are used solely to query grocery flyer data from public sources and are not retained.
• Email addresses are used to send the weekly CartIQ deals digest. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies & tracking

CartIQ does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising pixels. We may use basic analytics (page views) to understand usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is linked to analytics data.

Third-party services

• Beehiiv — email newsletter platform. Subscriber data is subject to Beehiiv's privacy policy.
• Vercel — hosting provider. May collect standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) per their infrastructure.
• Flipp — grocery flyer data source. Queries are made server-side; your postal code is not shared with Flipp in a way that identifies you.

CASL compliance

CartIQ complies with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We only send commercial electronic messages to users who have expressly opted in. Every email includes a clear, functional unsubscribe mechanism.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@cartiq.ca. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of CartIQ after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
