Privacy Policy

What we collect

CartIQ collects only what's needed to work:

• Postal code — entered by you to find deals near you. Not stored on our servers.
• Email address — only if you subscribe to the weekly deals newsletter. Stored securely via Beehiiv.

We do not require account creation. We do not collect names, phone numbers, or payment information.

How we use it

• Postal codes are used solely to query grocery flyer data from public sources and are not retained.
• Email addresses are used to send the weekly CartIQ deals digest. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies & tracking

CartIQ uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies, and a Google Tag Manager container that may load Google Analytics. We use these to understand which pages are read and where visitors come from. We do not sell analytics data and we do not link it to your email address. If we run advertising and measure it with a pixel, we will say so here first.

Third-party services

• Resend — email delivery. Your address and send events pass through Resend to deliver our messages, subject to Resend's privacy policy.
• Neon — database hosting for subscriber records and our price data.
• Anthropic — the AI model behind the meal planner and our weekly email draft. Your postal code and household preferences are sent to generate a plan; your email address is not.
• Vercel — hosting provider. May collect standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) per their infrastructure.
• Flipp — grocery flyer data source. Queries are made server-side; your postal code is not shared with Flipp in a way that identifies you.

Affiliate links and sponsors

Some links to retailers and delivery services may be affiliate links: if you buy after clicking, CartIQ may earn a commission at no cost to you. This never changes which deals we show or how we rank stores. The weekly email may carry one clearly labelled sponsored placement. Sponsors do not see subscriber data.

CASL compliance

CartIQ complies with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We only send commercial electronic messages to users who have expressly opted in. Every email includes a clear, functional unsubscribe mechanism.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@cartiq.ca. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of CartIQ after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
